This Office Will Make You Wish You Lived at Work

Workplace Wednesday: Zazzle Office Redesign

Brightly lit with floor-to-ceiling windows and clad with original wallpaper prints, the new office space of DIY company Zazzle masters the balance between work and play. Its furnishings and colors, though bright, are minimalist and contribute to a light and airy feel that encourages clear thinking. The wooden wall pattern—created using an ancient Japanese technique which alternates burnt oak planks and unburned hickory planks—appears like a modern redux on banal wooden paneling found in 1970s homes.

The homey vibe extends to the main common areas, which are furnished with fluid-like couches and cozy seating nooks that invite workers to settle in for extended hours. Similarly, the round card table, which is trimmed in leather and paired with plump leather chairs, is as inviting as it is useful. Moreover, the attention that Zazzle paid this room shows respect for its social culture and invites its employees to make the space their own.

A favorite feature is the vintage telephone booths, which are a great way to turn an accent piece into a private space for employees in the open work arena to access enough quiet to make calls without being disruptive to others.
