Venture capitalists invest in people, not technology or product. In launching and funding high tech ventures, we assess the founders’ qualities and capabilities. We can hire a manager to plug missing functional expertise, but no leader in the founding team spells trouble, so task one is always 90 minute one on one interviews with each team member. I’ll share my thoughts based on hundreds of interviews.
