Whatever you’re meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible.” – Doris Lessing, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, 2007.

When we consider our progress toward our professional and lifestyle goals, we are constantly reevaluating where we are versus where we want to be.

It goes something like this: We have an idea for a new business model or a new office construct, and we talk and talk about it all while waiting for the right time to start. The more we step back and asses the situation as a whole, the further we feel we are from where we want to be. The odds seem insurmountable; the path seems longer and more challenging than it did before. But the more we overthink it, the more time that passes by, and the obsessive self-talk inhibits change.

Progress requires steps forward. It will never be easier to take that first leap. Get in the game, and start now; tweak later and grow from experience.
