John Arenas Bio

John P. Arenas, Founder, Chairman and CEO, Serendipity Labs, Inc.

John P. Arenas is a ground-breaking innovator in the commercial real estate and hospitality industries. Over the last 25 years, he has successfully launched three national outsourced office service brands that anticipated the rapidly changing nature of work.

In 1996, John founded Stratis Business Centers, shared executive suites in ten U.S. states: Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

In 2001 Stratis was acquired by Regus (now IWG), the largest global provider of shared workplaces. John became President and GM of their Americas division, taking the helm as 2001 fell into economic crisis. John led the company through a formal restructuring that resulted in an 11x share price increase.

John left Regus to launch Worktopia, an on-demand booking system for workspace, meeting rooms and group hotel blocks. Worktopia connected to 86,000 hotels, airport clubs and conference centers and was licensed to companies that include American Express Business and Travelocity.

After selling Worktopia, John founded Serendipity Labs, Inc., in 2011, creating an a upscale, outsourced and flexible workplace animated with hospitality and service. With 30+ locations across the U.S. and U.K., Serendipity Labs offers employees an inspiring workplace close to home but not at-home, employers a trusted office alternative to attract and retain staff, and landlords a turnkey flexible office solution that addresses the new demand for agile and inspiring alternatives to long-term conventional office lease commitments.

John has an MBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University.
